2018 Girls High School Club National Invitational Championship
The 3rd Annual Girls High School Club Rugby National Invitational Championship will be held Friday-Saturday, May 18th-19th, 2018. This year the Nationals will be spilt into two tournaments.
Opening ceremonies will kick off the event on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 7pm, to be followed by Friday quarterfinals and semifinals. The finals will be played Saturday morning and early afternoon. The first girls’ NIT was held in 2000 and involved six teams. As a result of increasing competition and the desire for a venue to challenge top high school programs, the event has expanded into multiple divisions of competition and this year split into High School and Club. This is not a select-side event. Combined sides are not allowed and all athletes must be high school students in order to compete.
Competitive club girls’ teams wishing to compete must return an application to Bob Stephen (treasurer) by March 19th, 2018 (firstname.lastname@example.org). A non-refundable $500 entry fee will be required to accept a bid to the GCNIC. Seeding will be decided the week of the tournament by the Committee, who will take into account current records, including the most recent regional and state playoff competitions. Inquiries regarding competition questions may be directed to members of the Committee. Venue questions should be directed to host and tournament director [name] (email) We welcome and encourage those teams with aspirations of high-level play to this highly competitive event.
